Family law specialist Kate Rockas has been practicing in Marin County for more than 25 years. She has been certified as a family law specialist by The State Bar of California since 1999. Only a small percentage of practicing family law attorneys in California receives such a certification. In order to be certified as a family law specialist, an attorney must demonstrate a high level of experience in family law, pass a rigorous written examination, fulfill ongoing education requirements and be favorably evaluated by judges and other attorneys familiar with their work.
An active member of the legal community, Kate Rockas has volunteered for the Marin County Superior Court as a panelist for settlement conferences. She was chair of the Family Law Section of the Marin County Bar Association in 2000. She was on the board of directors for Marin County Women Lawyers from 2005 to 2007 and was president of that organization in 2008 and 2009. She was on the board of directors for the Marin County Bar Association from 2009 through 2015 and was the editor of the Bar Association’s newsletter, The Marin Lawyer, from 2009 through 2013.
